“If the bee disappeared off the face of the Earth, man would only have four years left to live.” Albert Einstein
Here at honey and Hemp we want to do business in a different way, we don’t just want to sell healthily ethical products to make money, we want to sell products that make a difference in the world by effecting the world around them in a positive way. We are in the means of setting up a ethical bee keeping business which puts the bees first instead of honey production which is not as common as you would hope , of course we will crop honey as we need to be able to make enough money to be able to continue supporting the bees but we will never strip the bees of all there honey and will always leave them with enough honey to survive on, we aim to enact a partnership with the bees where we provide them with medicine, excess food when they need it and protection.
We are not going use the bees like a slave honey production force like a lot of beekeeping business who steal all of their bees hard work and replace it with a far inferior substance (sugar syrup), however we are aware that in times of emergency we may have to call upon this inferior substance but only when we have to. A single worker bee produces about 1/12th of a teaspoon of honey in its whole life, they visit over two million flowers to make a pound of honey and to steal all of this hard graft is barbaric and simply wrong.
Bees have been one of the many species of creature abused by the human race and are under serious threat, In recent winters, honeybee colony mortality in Europe has averaged around 20%,In central Europe, estimated losses since 1985 point to a 25% loss of honeybee colonies, with a 54% loss in the UK and a 45% Loss of commercial honeybee hives in the UK since 2010. This is due to many factors, one being the loss of natural habitat and food sources, another is the increase use of deadly pesticides and then the rise of diseases, pests and mites for example like the varroa mite or foul brood.
We hope to fight back against theses issues in any way we can, our plan is to increase the biodiversity in our local area by building a ethical bee business with a difference and eventually take it country wide but alongside that we are going to share information on how everyone can help save the bees and work and partner with as many pollinator based charities and use our platform to share there information, raising all the money to do this thought our products so when you buy a jar CBD Honey or one of our Sweet Chilli CBD sauces you are literally funding the increase of well kept bees in the world
